Description:
This course is offered as a six-week online course. Learn to blaze your own trail and avoid information overload. Access encyclopedias such as World Book, and many other digitized resources such as almanacs, government documents, biographies, primary source documents, maps, magazines, newspapers and journals. Discover facts about countries, cultures, science, math, animals, and many more core curriculum areas. Tap into hundreds of ideas for classroom activities and fun, interactive student research tools. Explore the knowledge frontier with Pioneer.

Pre-requisites:
Basic Computer and Internet skills.

Participants will:

  • Use effective searching techniques to locate desired information within Pioneer resources.
  • Use critical thinking skills to evaluate information resources.
  • Be prepared to assist their students with class-related research using Pioneer.
  • Encourage students and their parents to use Pioneer outside of class.
  • Select appropriate grade level strategies for applying Pioneer resources in the curriculum.
  • Feel confident and motivated to use Pioneer for projects and activities in their classroom.
  • Encourage students and their parents to use Pioneer outside of class.
