Description:
Google is more than just a simple search engine! This six week online course is designed to bring great new educational tools from Google to your classroom. Learn basic skills in programs such as Google Earth, Google Docs & Spreadsheets, Google Calendar, Picasa, and more. Also, delve deeper into Google as the world’s favorite search engine and learn how to get the most effective results.

Upon completion of this course, participants will:
- Effectively use Google’s search technology.
- Demonstrate basic skills using Google Earth, Google Calendar, Google Docs & Spreadsheets, Picasa, and Blogger.
- Recognize the importance of incorporating multimedia within their classroom projects.
- Understand strategies for incorporating Google tools in higher level thinking activities for students.

Assignment:
- Complete tutorials, discussions and assignments as directed each week of the course.
- Develop a final Curriculum Timeline Project: Combine different elements of Google Earth, Blogger, and Picasa to make a tour of five important events in a particular curriculum area.
- Picasa: Edit five digital images to use in your curriculum timeline.
- Blogger: Create five substantial blog posts that describe the five events in your curriculum timeline.
- Google Earth: Mark each location using Placemarks. Type a brief description of each event. Add a photo and link to the event posts in your blog.
- Share your curriculum timeline near the end of class for other participants to review.
