Description:
Google is more than just a simple search engine!! This course is designed to bring great new educational tools from Google to your classroom. In this workshop we’ll learn basic skills in programs such as Google Earth, Google Docs, Picasa, and more. Also, we’ll delve deeper into Google as the world’s favorite search engine and show participants how to get the most effective results.

Upon completion of this course, participants will:
- Effectively use Google’s search technology.
- Demonstrate basic skills using Google Earth, Picasa, Google Calendar, and Google Docs.
- Recognize the importance of incorporating multimedia within their classroom projects.
- Understand strategies for incorporating Google tools in higher level thinking activities for students.
Things to bring:
Bring a few digital images of important places or events in your personal history (wedding, college, birthplace, kid's birthplace, etc.).

Assignment:
You can choose from the following options:
#1 Create a virtual curriculum tour using Google Earth. This should include at least 5 events/locations from your curriculum and should be produced as a .kmz file (google earth).
#2 Create a classroom calendar. Using Google Calendar create an annotated calendar for one month of your curriculum.
#3 Create a parent email list. Using Google Forms and Gmail create an email list you can use throughout the school year.
