Description:
Google is more than just a simple search engine!! This course is designed to bring great new educational tools from Google to your classroom. In this workshop we’ll learn basic skills in programs such as Google Earth, Blogger, Picasa, and more. Also, we’ll delve deeper into Google as the world’s favorite search engine and show participants how to get the most effective results.

Upon completion of this course, participants will:
- Effectively use Google’s search technology.
- Demonstrate basic skills using Google Earth, Picasa, and Blogger.
- Recognize the importance of incorporating multimedia within their classroom projects.
- Understand strategies for incorporating Google tools in higher level thinking activities for students.
Things to bring:
Bring a few digital images of important places or events in your personal history (wedding, college, birthplace, kid's birthplace, etc.).

Assignment:
You can choose from the following options:
#1 Create a virtual personal history tour using Blogger, Google Earth, and Picasa. This should include at least 5 events/locations in your life and should be produced as a .kmz file (google earth).
#2 Create a classroom website using Blogger, Google Docs & Spreadsheets, Google Calendar, and Picasa. You should upload at least 3 documents to your blog using Google Docs and Spreadsheets. Also, plan to add your calendar to your classroom blog.
