Description:
Participants in this course build on previous Dreamweaver experience and learn how to add forms to get visitor feedback, build pop-out menus, add user interactivity, use style sheets, add multimedia elements and develop templates. We encourage everyone to work on a "real-world" project and bring files and materials they plan to use.
Pre-requisites:
To gain the most from this course, participants should:
- Complete Dreamweaver Part 1 and Part 2 courses or equivalent.
- Have a good understanding of Dreamweaver, the Internet, and HTML.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Enhance their school or curriculum website.
- Add forms to gather data from visitors.
- Add multimedia elements.
- Use the advanced features of Dreamweaver.
- Use Fireworks 8 to create advanced layouts.
- Create and use templates and library items.
- Use CSS capabilities to improve the function, appearance, and efficiency of a website.
- Install and use extensions.
- Create pop-out menus to improve the usability of a site.
Things to bring:
We provide a sample project for most skills, but participants are encouraged to bring ideas and materials such as a copy of their website, digital images or other content to work with in class. Optional: Participants may bring their own laptop. A free trial version of Dreamweaver may be downloaded and installed prior to class at: http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/

Credit:
Upon completion of all three courses in the Web Academy series and completion of their homework project participants can apply to receive 3 hours USOE credit OR 3 semester hours SUU credit.
The three courses are:
- Dreamweaver Level 1
- Fireworks
- Dreamweaver Level 2
Points:
14 licensure points
Assignment:
A pre and post reflection writing assignment will be required of all participants who want credit. The post-reflection must be turned in within 30 days of completion of this course.
This assignment may be completed by creating a new site, or by revising and upgrading an existing Web site using new skills. The topic and content of the Web site should reflect the educational and communication goals of the school and/or your classroom. The site should also demonstrate your understanding of advanced tools like CSS and Library items to improve the function of your website and improve your efficiency in managing it. The Website should include the following:
School Website:
- Current phone numbers and email addresses of all faculty and staff.
- Current school calendar.
- Links to Grading system, and District site.
- Links to internet resources for Parents and teachers, Pioneer Library etc.
- Adherence to all District guidelines.
Teachers Website:
- Current contact information.
- Up to date calendars and schedules.
- Teaching resources: handouts, study aids, etc.
- Internet resources for students and parents.
- Adherence to all district guidelines.
