Description:
Learn to use several different simple, easy-access, cheap or free software programs and web sites to create animated stories (including stop-motion movies), comics, and more. Discover innovative ideas for including your products in the curriculum. Students love the opportunity to be creative and prove their knowledge with fun multimedia projects. You can gain the skills and confidence you need to open up these options in your classroom.

Participants will understand:

How to collect images, sounds, and other resources to be used in multimedia projects.
- How to combine images, sounds, animations, text, and music to create an effective multimedia product.
- How to create animated movies and other projects using multimedia programs like Pixie 2, Frames, and PowerPoint.
- How student multimedia projects can be managed in any content area.
Things to bring:
Optional: Story ideas, written student work, digital images, etc. you might use in a project.

Assignment:
During class time you will build four short multimedia projects. Using one of the software tools discussed in class, build upon and extend one of those four projects. The expanded and completed project should meet a core curriculum objective and be developed to the point where it can be used with students. In addition to the project, submit a one-page reflection paper explaining how you plan to use the information and skills learned in the course.
